Growing tokyo bekana, yardlong beans, chaya, or luffa but not sure how to actually use it?
Growing unique heirloom veggies can take a lot of unnecessary work off your plate for garden maintenance but getting used to how those different foods can be prepared opens up a whole other can of worms so to speak. We will talk about how you can incorporate these unique crops into your meal plan using what grows well here (emphasis on fall crops since we are heading into prime planting season now). We will also go over common substitutions for many of these crops (cheat sheet included) as well as several different preparation ideas to get your creative juices flowing.
We will be outside for the duration of the class. Please dress accordingly. Surfaces will be unlevel, wear comfortable shoes you can walk or stand in. There are no bathrooms on site so please plan ahead.
Elise had been cooking using whole food ingredients for 15+ years. She has extensive knowledge of Florida's unique heirlooms crops and most importantly how to use them!
