About this experience

This is a package deal for 3 upcoming tours and classes.

We will take a walking tour through my winter garden where I have over 70 different varieties of annual and perennial vegetables growing. This tour is meant to show you an example of the food you can grow in a small urban setting.

It will also include how to start a Florida food forest as well as composting and vermicomposting techniques. For more information on each course please click on the individual courses.

We are offering this course on a sliding price scale so that everyone is able to access this resource regardless of their financial situation. The sliding scale represents the idea that monetary resources like income should not be the only determining factor in whether or not someone can access services/classes/etc. Take a look at the green bottles image in the product images to help determine where you fall on the sliding scale (image created & shared freely by Alexis J. Cunningfolk).

    • $72 is the actual cost of the class. If you choose a price below the top tier you are receiving a discount.

    • $80 is the Pay-It-Forward price. The extra money goes towards supporting scholarships as well as future free and low-cost classes. Essentially it's an opportunity to not only purchase the class but also support your fellow community members while you're at it.

    • $60 is the sacrifice price. It is for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income. Paying for this class may qualify as a sacrifice but it would not create hardship. For those that need to purchase at this price, a payment plan is available. Conact me directly at elise.pickett@theurbanharvest.com to discuss details.

    • $50 is the hardship price. It is for those who struggle to meet basic needs and paying for this class would still be a significant hardship. This will be based on community support from the pay it forward price point. For those that need to purchase at this price, a payment plan is available. Contact me directly at elise.pickett@theurbanharvest.com to discuss details.

Elise cleaned up her diet and learned to grow food knowing the impact harmful chemicals can have on our body. Her garden is proof that you can grow food here in Florida without those inputs for a healthy environment and a healthy you!
