We will dive into how to get started growing a food forest here in Florida! There will be samples of lesser known fruits for you to taste test so that you can decide wether its a good fit for your property.

Class held on Saturday January 18 from 1:00-3:30pm.

Important Notes:

  • Advance ticket purchase will be necessary to ensure small group sizes. Please do not show up the day of the event and expect to purchase a ticket.

  • Children under 18 are free.

  • We will be outdoors the entire duration. We will be walking through mulch and uneven ground, please wear appropriate foot wear.

  • Important - there are no bathrooms on site, plan accordingly!

We are offering this course on a sliding price scale so that everyone is able to access this resource regardless of their financial situation. The sliding scale represents the idea that monetary resources like income should not be the only determining factor in whether or not someone can access services/classes/etc. Take a look at the green bottles image in the product images to help determine where you fall on the sliding scale (image created & shared freely by Alexis J. Cunningfolk).

    • $40 is the Pay-It-Forward price. The extra money goes towards supporting scholarships as well as future free and low-cost classes. Essentially it's an opportunity to not only purchase the class but also support your fellow community members while you're at it.

    • $30 is the sacrifice price. It is for those who are able to meet their basic needs but have little-to-no expendable income. Paying for this class may qualify as a sacrifice but it would not create hardship. For those that need to purchase at this price, a payment plan is available. Conact me directly at elise.pickett@theurbanharvest.com to discuss details.

    • $20 is the hardship price. It is for those who struggle to meet basic needs and paying for this class would still be a significant hardship. This will be based on community support from the pay it forward price point. For those that need to purchase at this price, a payment plan is available. Contact me directly at elise.pickett@theurbanharvest.com to discuss details.
