Long-lived shrub. Flowers frequently throughout the year. It can handle small droughts and prefers full sun to part shade. It is the nectar plant for Shaus' swallowtail, and the larval host for tantalus sphinx moths (one of my favorites). The nice thing about this shrub is that it grows vertically more than horizontally, so if you have a small spot in your yard that you need to fill, this one would be a good choice for you.
