Heterotheca subaxillaris. Also known as Mexican arnica. Florida native landscape weed that blooms in the summer and fall. This weed gets its name from its camphor-like odor when distrubed. The tea of the whole dried plant has numerous medicinal benefits, and a long history of use for gas pain, diarrhea cramps and menstrual pain. Used topically, it is an excellent anti fungal and anti-septic wash to bathe skin rashes, ringworm and prickly heat.
