This is a native medicinal plant to Florida but can be a bit tricky to establish. They thrive with part shade and consistent moisture. The flowers are 3-4 in. across with pretty purple-pink rays. They do not need to be chilled prior to sowing but do need light to germinate. Surface sow in trays then pot up from there.
