Amaranth with edible leaves and gigantic flowers that form blooms that resemble and elephants trunk. Really pretty for cut flowers but also some of the biggest blooms for amaranth so its a stand out choice if you are looking to save the seeds for grain. Attracts loads of beneficial insects over the summer months. Need light for seeds to germinate so surface sow outdoors in warm weather. Strip pest eaten leaves off and it will flush new growth. Also handles being cut back well.

Minimum Seed Count: 100

Good to start from seed in these months:

North Florida: April-August

Central Florida: March-September

South Florida: February-October

Open Pollinated Heirloom Seeds Selected To Thrive

This is a curated collection of seeds I have found to grow well in Florida over the years. It is designed to take the overwhelm and thought process out of figuring out which varieties to select that will actually grow well here.

Some of the seed is saved from myself and other small local growers for harder to source varieties that you can't find online.

The majority of the seed varieties will come from dedicated seed supply companies like Working Food or Southern Exposure Seed Exchange to keep up with demand. We always prioritize localized seed sources which have a sustainable and equitable business model.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Each seed pack is printed with non-toxic algae ink on 100% post-consumer waste paper.

The packaging is recyclable or compostable once the mailing sticker is removed.
