Learn a little, get inspired, and join in community.
This event is not a structured class but rather an opportunity to meet fellow gardeners from across the state as we get a farm tour of a 60 acre family farm that practices regenerative agriculture. The walking tour will be approximately one to one and half hours as we tour their vegetable fields, fruit orchards, and animals. You can learn more about their certified organic farm here.
After our tour we will gather together for BYOP (bring your own picnic). Everyone can pack their own lunch for themselves and we can come together while we eat to get to know one another better. Come together as a group, chat gardening, and relish in the fall weather.
We will be having an optional seed exchange during our social time. Please bring saved seed from your garden or extra seed from packs that you have that you have grown to love. Also make sure to bring your own envelopes/jars/seed storage containers plus labeling/writing utensils for you to put your new seed into.
The event will be held at Frog Song Organics which is an operating farm. We will be outside for the duration of the day so dress accordingly. Wear shoes you are comfortable walking on uneven sandy terrain in. There are portapotties, hand wash stations, and drinking water available. Frog Song Organics will have a farm stand open for you to purchase some freshly harvested goodies to take home with you.
Amy and John of Frog Song Organics have been working their 60 acre family farm since 2011 using organic and regenerative practices. They are going to be sharing the wealth of knowledge they have gathered over the years as they open their farm gate for us to gather!
