In the cowpea family but a true vining type that loves to climb a sturdy trellis rather than sprawl across the ground. A pole black bean, incredibly productive for dry beans with 10-12 seeds per pod rather than the typical 5-7. Harvest when pods turn brittle and brown for a shelf stable black bean. Tender perennial in south florida. Great for food forests or permaculture application. Saved from local heirloom seed, not available on large commercial seed sites. Please SAVE YOUR SEEDS, we consistently sell out and this is a very hard to source variety.

Packet: 10 seed

Good to start from seed in these months:

North Florida: February-June, September

Central Florida: February-May, September

South Florida: January-May, October
