Also known as dinosaur kale or nero di tuscana. This stiff leafed bumpy kale is the traditional kale of Italy for cooking and soups because it holds up so well. I have found that it will last significantly longer into the spring months than the Russian kales and have even had some last multiple seasons though most usually die off from pest pressure in the summer. Harvest from the bottom up, it will eventually turn into a kale "palm tree".
