Also called butterbean. Alabama black eye looks like a black eye cow pea but with the yummy creamy texture of a lima bean. The beans are small and have 3 or so per pod. Productive plants. These are a pole bean and need a trellis. Lima beans excel in spring when temperatures are high and no rain in sight.
