A cross between two of the most delicious and hardy greens -- tatsoi and komatsuna -- the lightly savoyed leaves have a velvety texture and lightly umami flavor that make it a remarkable spinach substitute. Amazingly heat tolerant for a leafy green. Minimum 200 seed.
Good to start from seed in these months:
North Florida: March-May, September-November
Central Florida: March-May, September-November
South Florida: February-March, October-December

Open Pollinated Heirloom Seeds Selected To Thrive
This is a curated collection of seeds I have found to grow well in Florida over the years. It is designed to take the overwhelm and thought process out of figuring out which varieties to select that will actually grow well here.
Some of the seed is saved from myself and other small local growers for harder to source varieties that you can't find online.
The majority of the seed varieties will come from dedicated seed supply companies like Working Food or Southern Exposure Seed Exchange to keep up with demand. We always prioritize localized seed sources which have a sustainable and equitable business model.

I love these greens. They are still on the way to becoming large, but I am already eating fresh picked greens from my yard and combining them with sorrel and arugula.
Actually, planting this on Friday10/31 . I'm sure it will be great, we love Komatsuna so this will be interesting.
