(Chenopodium ambrosioides) Fresh leaves are ground or crushed for seasoning corn, beans, and sauces used in Mexican dishes. I throw a handful in my beans when I cook, similiar effect as adding kombu seaweed to help reduce flatulence associated with beans. A strong tea rubbed on the skin repels insects and reduces irritation from insect bites. Prefers part shade but can handle sun if needed.

Good to start from seed in these months:

North Florida: February-May, September-November

Central Florida: January-May, September-December

South Florida: January-May, September-December
