Incredibly hardy green for Florida and is more salt tolerant than any other veggie on this site. Naturally found on sand dunes so sandy, hot, drought conditions don't phase it a bit. The leaves are succulent and have a mild salty taste. Good as a fresh eating or cooking green. I have found these to be incredibly difficult to germinate. I usually just sow a whole ton of seeds into my beds then forget about them and plant other things. Sometimes weeks, sometimes months later the plants pop up in their own time. It has a low sprawling growth habit so wont compete with most plants for light. Will reseed themselves after that point so you don't have to mess with it again.
