Solanum lycopersicum. Porter's Pride Tomato (also known as Improved Porter) is a legendary heirloom developed in Texas specifically to conquer dry heat, high temperatures, and tough growing conditions. Maturing in 75 to 80 days, these productive, indeterminate vines yield heavy clusters of 3- to 4-ounce, globe-shaped red-to-pink tomatoes protected by dense foliage.
The firm, smooth fruits are crack- and sunburn-resistant with an exceptionally rich, complex flavor that shines whether eaten fresh in salads or processed into juice, sauces, and canned goods. Resilient, drought-tolerant, and versatile.
