Purple Shiso

Purple Shiso, or Perilla, is an edible herb from Southeast Asia that is as beautiful as it is flavorful. A bit of mint and basil with a touch of coriander, different but delicious! Ideal understory plant prefers shade and can handle poor soils making it well suited to food forest growing. Will reseed heavily so if that is not desired make sure to dead head all blooms.

North Florida: March-August

Central Florida: February-September

South Florida: January-December
