Looseleaf lettuce. Deep red really tender leaves - just like green salad bowl but with color. The red color is more pronounced in the cold but it will show it regardless of temperatures. Can harvest individual leaves or allow it to grow into a loose head. I have found red lettuces prefer the cooler weather and fizzle out faster in the heat so plant early. All lettuces here, prefers some afternoon shade especially in fall and spring for best flavor.
Packet: 400-600 seeds.
Good to start from seed in these months:
North Florida: January-April, September-December
Central Florida: January-March, September-December
