Romaine heading lettuce. Incredibly sweet leaves and super tender, a favorite for my gardening community. Red edged leaves grow more red with cooler weather and more mature leaves. Can harvest individual leaves by sowing densely (like I do) or allow it to grow into a head. All lettuces here prefers some afternoon shade especially in fall and spring for best flavor. Holds better in the heat than most other red varieties of lettuce.
Packet: 400-600 seeds.
Good to start from seed in these months:
North Florida: January-April, September-December
Central Florida: January-March, September-December
