Velvet Queen Sunflower

The deepest red bloom we offer and perfect for fall bouquets. These max out at around 5 feet making them slightly smaller than the evening bloom variety. Bonus with this variety is that you will typically get multiple secondary blooms, making them a "branching" variety. Sunflowers are beloved by squirrels and any other number of critters here. I like to overplant quite a lot so that I am guaranteed that a few are missed by pests. I'll even put chicken wire loosely over the area I plant so the squirrels cant dig them up easily and then remove it once it has its first set of true leaves.
